Open-DXL Python Client with actual Ubuntu / Debian releases (openssl issue)

  • Hi All,

I have played around with the various docker images of OpenDXL and was going about to develop a solution (bit more playing and testing) on my dev box.

However, regardless what I do, I always get an error on validating the certificates when the DXL Client (python) attempts to connect to the fabric.

[SSL: CERTIFICATE_VERIFY_FAILED] certificate verify failed: CA signature digest algorithm too weak (_ssl.c:1129)

Using the same certificates in the OpenDXL-Console and testing the python scripts there (also using Python3) there are no problems...

My Dev box is an Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, up to date and fully patched. Am using Python3 and Openssl 1.1.1j 16 Feb 2021.

Anyone else had the same problems, or perhaps a solution?
